Morgan

Hello friends and family,

We are reaching out to ask for your help in supporting a bright, resilient teenager living in a rural area in Rwanda.

Morgan is a 15-year-old who has always been a great student—curious, intelligent, and deeply motivated to learn. However, her journey at school has been extremely difficult. While she was assigned male at birth, she identifies as a girl and naturally presents very femininely. Because of this, she has faced daily bullying and harsh treatment from both students and teachers. Instead of focusing on her studies, she is forced to endure ridicule, harassment, and lives in constant fear, both on her way to school and inside the classroom. She has lived with this for many years but of late the harassment has escalated making it untenable for her to continue in her village school.

Recently, we discovered a school in the capital, Kigali, that is much more open and welcoming to students like her—a progressive Headteacher who says there’ll be no more bullying and violence on her watch. Unfortunately, the fees are far beyond what her family could ever afford.

That’s why we are creating this fundraiser. Your donations will go directly toward:

  • Tuition fees for the accepting school
  • Necessary school materials and supplies
  • Safe transportation to and from school
  • Modest living expenses to ensure she can focus fully on her education

Even the smallest contributions can make a big difference—either as a one-off or as a regular commitment. And if you are unable to donate, simply sharing this page with others is a powerful way to show solidarity.

Let’s get this young person through school.

With gratitude,

Team Morgan
